Still got that old magic

If there is one game that has stood the test of time, in my book it is Counter Strike. Like anyone I have not loved every release of the game but the newest horse in the stable, CS:GO is good enough to get me back in the game. With a return of bunny hopping and broad changes to weapon physics the game feels like it did in CS 1.3 with the added benefit of today’s game engine technology.

Competitive ranking, loot drops and a match making system provide a mechanism to keep players involved and interested. Competitive match making gives consistently enjoyable PUG play on demand, with the ability to join and queue with friends. Ranking up is easy, winning games will quickly see you being matched with more highly skilled opponents and team members.

Catering to millenials, ADHD sufferers and Chinese sweat shops alike, the game contains a ‘rich’ loot drop and trading system where the primary currency, skins to rice up your weapons can be traded for other pointless cosmetics and hard currency.

15 years after catching the CS bug I am happy to report the infection is going strong. Grab it for under $15.
